AVOID MILITARY ESCALATION!

The terrorist attacks in New York and Washington 11/9 have filled us with horror and sorrow. We consider these actions acts of barbarism, which can find no excuse of any kind. We want to express our deepest solidarity and condolence to the people of the US.

The terrible incident calls for a deeply worrying for the future of our world. Therefore we want to state the following:

There is a great need for eliminating terrorism in the world. But the answer to the incidents in USA must not be based on aggression, violence and hatred. The answer must be based on justice and reason.

We feal that many people are afraid of a new war. We appeal to the governments of our countries not to take part in or support any military revenge, that can lead to a new war.

Eliminating evilness and barbarism in the world is not done by one country or a group of countries defining what is right and wrong. On the other hand the solution must and shall be based on an international and neutral order of justice.

We are extremely worried, that the terrorist attack on the USA s will cause a deeper gap between the western, Christian part of the world and the Islamic part of the world. Likely we have observed with great worry that this can be a fuel to the fire of racism and hatred towards Islamic minorities in the western countries. We will continue to fight for peace and dialogue between countries and between ethnic and religious groups, and ask everybody to do so, though it may seem hard.

The terrorist attack shall not mean a step backwards for the peace-process in the Middle East. The conflicts in the Middle East still call for a political and peaceful solution.
